Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: On the eve of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, celebrated in the International Year of Peace and Trust, the people of Turkmenistan are preparing with great inspiration for one of the nation’s key events – the upcoming session of the Halk Maslahaty.

This important gathering, described as a true celebration of national democracy, reaffirms Turkmenistan’s commitment to peace, trust, and the well-being of its citizens.

Chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the session will present a comprehensive review of the country’s achievements across all major sectors. Participants are expected to consider specific proposals for the further development of industry, agriculture, healthcare, sports, and education. The forthcoming action plan will be harmonized with the objectives of the “Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State” program and the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country.”

A key item on the agenda is the draft of a new constitutionally significant law, On the Legal Foundations of the Policy of Peace and Trust of Neutral Turkmenistan. Initiated by the National Leader, the law aims to formally enshrine the principles of neutrality that have defined the country’s foreign policy, particularly as Turkmenistan marks the 30th anniversary of its neutral status. This initiative follows the recent adoption of the law On the Establishment of the Jubilee Medal “Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 ýyllygyna”.

The session will also highlight the contributions of dedicated workers whose efforts have played an essential role in the nation’s prosperity. Their recognition will underscore the state’s enduring respect for its citizens’ achievements and its commitment to Turkmenistan’s longstanding traditions.
