Amir of Qatar, German Chancellor hold official talks session

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Amir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany HE Olaf Scholz held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan on Sunday afternoon.

At the outset of the session, HH the Amir of Qatar welcomed HE the Chancellor of Germany and the accompanying delegation, wishing that the visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries to broader horizons at various levels, especially economic and investment.

Chancellor Scholz expressed his thanks to the Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, looking forward to strengthening the relations of cooperation between the two countries to achieve common aspirations and develop them in various fields.

During the session, they discussed aspects of supporting and strengthening strategic relations between the two friendly countries in various fields of partnership, especially in the economy, investment, energy, military cooperation, culture and sports, in addition to reviewing the most prominent regional and international issues and developments.

The session was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Chief of Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, and a number of senior officials.

On the German side, Secretary of State and the Federal Government Spokesperson HE Steffen Hebestreit, Secretary of State HE Dr. Jorg Kukies, and a number of members of the accompanying official delegation attended the session.

HH the Amir and HE the Chancellor of Germany exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, particularly the developments of the Ukraine crisis and its repercussions on security and peace in the world.

The German Chancellor was accorded an official reception ceremony upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
