Gulf States and Jordan Condemn Iran-Linked Attacks, Warn Against Regional Escalation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Jordan have strongly condemned what they described as blatant Iranian attacks, calling them a flagrant violation of sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.
In a joint statement, the countries denounced attacks allegedly carried out directly or through Iran-backed armed groups and proxies across the region, warning that such actions undermine regional security and stability.
The statement highlighted incidents involving armed factions operating from Iraq, which targeted several countries as well as critical infrastructure. These actions were described as violations of international conventions and a breach of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which calls on Iran to immediately cease attacks or threats against neighbouring states, including through proxy forces.
While reaffirming their fraternal relations with Iraq, the countries urged the Iraqi government to take decisive steps to prevent armed groups from launching attacks from its territory, stressing the need to avoid further escalation and preserve regional ties.
The joint statement also reaffirmed the countries’ inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, asserting their readiness to take all necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, security and stability.
Additionally, the countries condemned destabilising activities attributed to sleeper cells and organisations linked to Hezbollah, praising their armed forces and security agencies for thwarting attacks, dismantling networks and safeguarding national security.
They reiterated their commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability while continuing efforts to counter threats posed by terrorism and external interference.
