UAE, Syria Presidents Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Security in Phone Call

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a telephone conversation with Ahmed Al-Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, during which the two leaders reviewed fraternal relations and explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation in ways that serve their mutual interests and benefit their peoples.

During the call, President Al-Sharaa reaffirmed the depth and strength of ties between the United Arab Emirates and Syria, underscoring the importance of continued engagement and collaboration across various sectors.

The discussions also covered regional developments and their serious implications for security and stability. Both leaders expressed concern over ongoing tensions, particularly in light of what they described as continued Iranian aggression targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The UAE and Syrian presidents emphasized that such actions constitute violations of national sovereignty, international law, and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter, reiterating the need for maintaining regional peace and stability through adherence to international norms.
