Punjab Pavilion

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The opening ceremony of the Punjab pavilion, representing Pakistan’s largest province, was held on May 19 during the 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

The event was attended by Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who formally inaugurated the pavilion and reviewed the showcased initiatives.

During the visit, the Chief Minister was briefed in detail on various development projects and policy initiatives highlighted at the pavilion.

The exhibition presents Punjab’s progress in urban planning, sustainable development, affordable housing, digital governance, climate-smart development, and public welfare programs.

A key feature of the pavilion is the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” housing initiative under the Government of Punjab, through which more than 100,000 housing units have been approved. The programme is designed to support affordable housing access for low-income families across the province.

Officials noted that the pavilion serves as a platform to showcase Punjab’s development model and its efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable urban growth.
