Turkmen President Congratulates Arkadag Residents on City’s Second Anniversary

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has extended warm congratulations to the residents of Arkadag city on the occasion of the city’s second anniversary, describing the milestone as a significant event in the country’s political, social and cultural life.
According to Turkmenistan’s state media, President Berdimuhamedov praised Arkadag for earning international recognition through its modern architecture, national identity and adoption of advanced technologies. He noted that over the past three years, the city has received numerous prestigious international certificates and awards in recognition of its smart city development programme, innovative achievements and environmental sustainability.
The President said the construction of Arkadag reflects the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens. He added that work is progressing on the second phase of the smart city project in line with the Concept for the Development of Arkadag City for 2024–2052, aimed at ensuring the city’s long-term sustainable growth.
Highlighting Turkmenistan’s international engagement, Berdimuhamedov referred to the participation of a national delegation in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, jointly organized with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Azerbaijan. He said the presentation of Arkadag at the forum marked an important step in strengthening the city’s global profile and showcasing its achievements in sustainable urban development.
The President also underscored Arkadag’s growing role as a centre for charitable and humanitarian initiatives. He pointed to events commemorating the fifth anniversary of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, as well as the decision to name the mosque currently under construction in the city as the “Spiritual Mosque of Arkadag.”
Concluding his congratulatory message, President Berdimuhamedov wished the residents of Arkadag good health, family prosperity and continued success in their work, expressing confidence that the city would continue to contribute to Turkmenistan’s development and international standing.
