Turkmenistan to Host Investment Forum in Ashgabat in October 2026
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has approved a proposal to hold the Turkmenistan Investment Forum in Ashgabat in October 2026, reaffirming the country’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and expanding international economic cooperation.
According to Turkmen state media, the decision was taken during a regular Cabinet meeting held via a digital system on Friday.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov briefed the Cabinet on preparations for the forum, which is expected to bring together investors, business leaders and policymakers to explore Turkmenistan’s investment potential and economic development priorities.
The forum and its associated events will highlight the country’s investment attractiveness, with discussions focusing on the development of the fuel and energy sector, industrial growth, and the expansion of reliable transport and communication infrastructure.
Participants will also examine key issues related to digital and green transformation for sustainable development, the adoption of digital financial technologies, agricultural entrepreneurship, strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector to climate change, and environmental protection.
In addition, the forum will provide a platform for exchanging views on the development of trade, the services sector, public-private partnerships, cooperation with leading international financial institutions, and strategic approaches to economic diversification.
Addressing the Cabinet, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan continues to make productive efforts to attract foreign investment into the national economy while broadening international cooperation in the economic sphere.
Approving the proposal to organize the Turkmenistan Investment Forum in Ashgabat in October 2026, the President directed Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov to undertake all necessary measures to ensure comprehensive preparations for the high-level international event.
