COAS Asim Munir Reviews Bilateral Defence Cooperation with Saudi Arabia, Türkiye

Rawalpindi, The Gulf Observer: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, held a series of high-level meetings in Istanbul during his official visit to Türkiye, focusing on bilateral defence cooperation and regional security.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir met separately Saudi Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler and Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.

During the meetings, the participants discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence cooperation and the prevailing regional security environment.

The COAS also attended a meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defence, bringing together Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.

The three sides reviewed avenues for further strengthening strategic coordination and defence cooperation, with particular emphasis on enhancing collaboration among the three brotherly countries.

The engagements underscored the close fraternal ties and growing strategic and defence cooperation between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
