President Jokowi distributes cash aid to residents in Solo
Solo, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has been conducting visits to several places in Solo to greet local residents.
The head of state, wearing a long-sleeved brown shirt, arrived with his eldest grandson Jan Ethes Srinarendra at the Pasar Gede Market on Saturday to greet the local community while distributing envelopes containing cash aid.
Slamet, a pedicab driver, admitted to feeling grateful for the envelope he had received from Jokowi. Slamet said he intends to use the money to buy basic necessities.
“I got Rp250 thousand. Praise be to God, thank you very much Mister President. May you live a long and healthy life,” he stated.
Moreover, the president visited residents in the vicinity of Gading Market and Nusukan Market to engage in direct interactions with them.
Meanwhile, members of the local community responded to the president’s arrival with enthusiasm, as they got the opportunity to directly interact with him.
