Iranian President: Syria trip marks ‘turning point’ in bilateral ties
Damascus, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Raisi made the remark in Damascus on Thursday afternoon during a meeting with Iranian and Syrian businessmen, on the second day of his historic visit to the Arab country.
He said that the Iranian and Syrian governments are determined to expand their trade, economic and political relations, and to remove obstacles in the way of activity by businessmen of both countries.
The Iranian president also said that the document for comprehensive and long-term strategic cooperation between the two sides, as well as the 14 agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in different sectors such as oil, trade, and housing, among others, are all part of measures aimed at boosting bilateral relations.
Raisi called for further efforts to increase economic cooperation between the two countries, saying that economic ties are not yet at the level of good political relations between the two countries.
