Dunyagozel Gulmanova Hosts Meeting with Deputy Chairman of China’s National People’s Congress
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: In a bid to reinforce diplomatic ties, the Chairman of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, welcomed Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Hao Mingjing, who led a representative delegation on a working visit to Turkmenistan.
The discussions held during the meeting acknowledged the recent strides achieved in the interstate dialogue, both on a bilateral and multilateral scale. The officials highlighted the mutual commitment to invigorate the longstanding partnership, initially founded on principles of equality and mutual respect.
The Turkmen-Chinese intergovernmental committee was recognized as playing a pivotal role in coordinating joint efforts. The strategic and long-term nature of the bilateral partnership, evolving across various levels, including intensified inter-parliamentary and inter-party connections, received commendation. Furthermore, the meeting spurred a renewed impetus in interregional cooperation.
The exchange of views encompassed an array of domains, from political and diplomatic collaboration to trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. The participation of Turkmenistan’s National Leader, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in the Third High-Level Forum “One Belt, One Road” in Beijing in October 2023 was noted as a significant moment.
Humanitarian ties between the nations were underscored, emphasizing the robust educational exchange, including numerous Turkmen students studying in Chinese universities. The meeting also acknowledged cultural cooperation, such as the recent launch of the Year of Chinese Culture in Turkmenistan and the successful Youth Forum of Central Asian Countries and China in Mary.
The guests were given insights into the structure and functions of Turkmenistan’s national parliament, concluding the meeting with mutual confidence in the continued enhancement of fruitful relations between Turkmenistan and China.
