Azerbaijan Increases Education Spending in Q1 2025, Surpassing Budget Projections

Baku, The Gulf Observer: In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan’s state budget spending on education reached 1.029 billion manats, exceeding the projected quarterly allocation by 4.2%, according to News Hub Consultants.

This figure reflects an 8.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024, amounting to an additional 84.4 million manats in funding. The increase underscores the Azerbaijani government’s continued commitment to investing in human capital and strengthening the national education system.

During the reporting period, education expenditures constituted 12.7% of the country’s total actual budget spending, reaffirming the sector’s prioritization within the broader fiscal framework.

The total allocation for education from the 2025 state budget has been set at 4.937 billion manats, signaling a sustained focus on educational development throughout the year.

Officials note that this trend aligns with national strategies aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure, expanding access, and improving the overall quality of learning across Azerbaijan.
