Kazakhstan and Spain Strengthen Investment Cooperation

Barcelona, The Gulf Observer: Altynay Mukanova, the foreign representative of JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” in Southern Europe, and Amir Sultangozhin, Head of the Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, conducted several high-level meetings with the leadership of major Spanish companies to explore opportunities for enhancing bilateral investment cooperation. In a significant development, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with ACIR Southern Europe during one of these meetings. This memorandum outlines joint investment activities and aims to facilitate the identification of local partners for niche projects in Kazakhstan’s priority economic sectors.

Ms. Mukanova also engaged with representatives from Pharma Hub Cataluna to discuss the potential for advancing Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical industry. She highlighted the importance of establishing medical-pharmaceutical clusters in Kazakhstan, which are vital for the healthcare sector’s growth, particularly in executing breakthrough innovative projects.

Furthermore, representatives from Setram, a leading Spanish transport and logistics company, expressed their keen interest in developing transit cargo transportation in Kazakhstan. This initiative would involve expanding the transport infrastructure to enhance the export capacity of Kazakh products.

Ms. Mukanova also met with executives from other prominent Spanish firms, including Grupo Proton, BMC, and Pimec. During these discussions, she presented Kazakhstan’s favorable investment climate and introduced new tools for attracting investments.

The Spanish business community demonstrated considerable interest in collaborating on promising joint projects and expressed a strong desire to establish and expand their cooperation with Kazakhstani partners.
