Abu Dhabi Commemorates Martyrs on Commemoration Day
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, attended the Commemoration Day ceremony at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi, marking a solemn tribute to the sacrifices made by the UAE’s fallen heroes. The ceremony was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs.
Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi laid a wreath at the monument, honouring the bravery and dedication of the UAE’s martyrs. In a poignant moment, he presented the Martyr’s Medal to the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the security and safety of the UAE.
The ceremony featured a striking aerial tribute as fighter jets flew in formation, symbolizing the Unknown Soldier, further recognizing the sacrifices of those who gave their lives for the homeland.
The event was attended by a distinguished group of officials, including H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO); Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; and Major General Staff Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
Also present were several Sheikhs, ministers, high-ranking officials, military brass, families of the martyrs, diplomats, and other dignitaries, all gathered to pay their respects and honor the nation’s heroes.
