Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliyev Honored with Leader in Tourism Award by WTFI

Bishkek, The Gulf Observer: The World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI) has announced that H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), has been awarded the prestigious Leader in Tourism Award. This honor recognizes his remarkable contributions to the tourism industry and his commitment to strengthening international cooperation among Turkic nations.

With a distinguished career spanning over 38 years, Ambassador Omuraliyev has played pivotal roles in diplomacy and international relations. His extensive service includes appointments as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to several countries, including Türkiye, Israel, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. In November 2022, he assumed the role of Secretary-General of the OTS, where he has been instrumental in fostering cultural and economic ties among member states.

During his tenure, the OTS has launched impactful cultural and tourism initiatives, such as the First Turkic World Cultural Forum, held in Shusha, Azerbaijan, in October 2023. This event highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening fraternal relations among Turkic nations.

The Leader in Tourism Award, presented annually by WTFI, recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to the global tourism sector. Past recipients include prominent leaders such as Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, and Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Ambassador Omuraliyev’s dedication to promoting tourism as a driver of economic growth and cultural understanding aligns with WTFI’s mission to transform economies through tourism. His efforts have elevated the global profile of Turkic states in the tourism sector while fostering unity and collaboration among member nations.
