Amir of Qatar Arrives in Brussels to Lead Qatar’s Delegation at GCC-EU Summit
Brussels, The Gulf Observer: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Brussels today to lead the State of Qatar’s delegation at the inaugural summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union (EU). The summit will take place tomorrow at the EU headquarters in the Belgian capital.
Upon his arrival at Abilene International Airport, HH the Amir was welcomed by Her Excellency Hadja Lahbib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium. His Excellency Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, His Excellency Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, and other distinguished officials were also present to greet the Qatari leader.
The welcoming delegation included His Excellency Khalid bin Fahad Al-Hajri, Qatar’s Ambassador to Belgium, and His Excellency Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Malki, Qatar’s Ambassador to the European Union, along with members of the Qatari Embassy.
The summit between the GCC and the EU marks a significant milestone in strengthening cooperation between the two regions, with discussions expected to cover a range of topics, including economic collaboration, security partnerships, and regional stability.
