Astra Agro Initiates Digital Services to Streamline Fruit Sales Process for Palm Oil Farmers

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI) is embarking on a digitalization journey to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and convenience of the fruit-selling process for palm oil farmers at the Astra Agro factory.
Speaking at the “Talk to the CEO 2024” event on Friday evening, Santosa, Chief Executive Officer of Astra Agro, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting palm oil farmers’ businesses through a strategic focus on prioritizing their palm oil products.
The ongoing development aligns with Astra Agro’s broader digitalization program, which includes the recent launch of the Partnership Information System Application (SISKA) 2.0 in January. Santosa highlighted that SISKA 2.0 not only provides convenience to partners but is also expected to optimize various facilities, such as platforms offered as a service for partner drivers awaiting the unloading of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) at the factory.
Introducing the Delivery Schedule Booking feature at the beginning of this year, Astra Agro aims to reduce waiting times for unloading through an integrated queuing system. This feature allows partners to easily arrange fruit delivery schedules to Astra Agro factories.
Santosa underscored the significance of the partnership program, intensified since 2018, as a crucial business strategy to fulfill the company’s palm oil mill utilities and crude palm oil (CPO) production. The company firmly believes that optimal digital services and programs will pave the way for sustainable business in the future.
“As national palm oil production has stagnated in recent years, efficiency becomes imperative for survival. Product utilization must also be optimal,” Santosa remarked, emphasizing the need for adaptability in the face of industry challenges.
In addition to digital initiatives, Astra Agro is actively engaged in collaborative programs supporting partners’ palm oil businesses. This includes the provision of fertilizers, oil palm sprouts, herbicides, transport units, private units, and heavy equipment, as well as cooperative efforts in infrastructure repairs. The company’s multifaceted approach aims to empower palm oil farmers and foster a robust and sustainable ecosystem within the industry.
