At Least 12 Killed, 27 Injured in Powerful Blast Near Judicial Complex in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: At least 12 people were killed and 27 others sustained injuries when a powerful explosion rocked the vicinity of the Judicial Complex in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon, according to official sources.
An Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police official told media that the blast occurred at 12:39 p.m., when a suspected suicide attacker attempted to enter the Judicial Complex but detonated the explosives near a police vehicle after being unable to gain access to the premises.
Following the explosion, Rescue 1122 and ICT Police teams swiftly arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched emergency rescue operations. The injured were immediately shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where emergency protocols were activated to accommodate the influx of victims.
Hospital authorities confirmed that 12 bodies had been received, while 27 injured persons were undergoing treatment — several of them in critical condition. Medical teams continued to provide urgent care as additional casualties were brought in.
Bomb disposal and forensic experts were deployed to the site to collect evidence and assess the nature of the explosives used. Senior police officials were present to oversee operations, as the blast caused widespread panic in the area and damaged several nearby vehicles and structures.
Law-enforcement agencies have launched a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the circumstances of the explosion and identify those responsible.
Security has been further tightened around the Judicial Complex, adjoining courts, and other sensitive installations in the federal capital.
According to ICT officials, the Prime Minister’s Office has sought a detailed report from the authorities and directed that all possible medical assistance be extended to the injured.
