Azerbaijan Reaffirms Support for TRNC as President Aliyev Meets President Erhürman in Antalya

Antalya, The Gulf Observer: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Tufan Erhürman on April 17 in Antalya.

President Aliyev congratulated Tufan Erhürman on his election as President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), to which Erhürman expressed his sincere gratitude.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed the enduring support extended by Azerbaijan to the TRNC. President Erhürman thanked Azerbaijan for its consistent backing, while President Aliyev reaffirmed that Baku has always stood by the TRNC and will continue its support in the future.

The discussions also highlighted the significance of the third meeting of the friendship groups of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, and the Assembly of the TRNC, recently held in Baku.

Both sides underlined the importance of the TRNC’s participation in the Organization of Turkic States as an observer and exchanged views on expanding cooperation across various sectors.
