Azerbaijan Submits Official Bid to Host 2027 UEFA Champions League Final
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan has officially submitted its bid to host the 2027 UEFA Champions League Final, aiming to bring Europe’s most prestigious club football event to the Olympic Stadium in Baku, according to News Hub Consultants. The competition to host the final includes Spain, with the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid also proposed as a potential venue.
UEFA reopened the bidding process for the 2027 final, with both Azerbaijan and Spain expressing keen interest. The deadline for final proposal submissions is set for March 19, with UEFA expected to announce the host city in May 2025.
The 2027 Champions League Final will conclude the 2026-27 season, with the winners earning a place in the 2027 UEFA Super Cup against the UEFA Europa League champions, as well as a chance to compete in the 2027 FIFA Intercontinental Cup and qualify for the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup. Additionally, the winning team will secure a spot in the 2027-28 Champions League league phase if they have not already qualified through league performance.
