Bukhara Sees Surge in Tourist Visits

Bukhara, The Gulf Observer: With its ancient monuments and rich national traditions, Bukhara has once again captured the world’s attention, resulting in a notable increase in tourism. From January to September of this year, the region welcomed 1 million 118 thousand tourists, reflecting a robust demand for its historic offerings. The export of tourist services during this period amounted to an impressive $279.1 million.

The influx of foreign visitors has seen a substantial rise, with the number of international tourists increasing by 16.8 percent compared to the same timeframe last year. Additionally, 3.1 million residents from various regions across Uzbekistan chose Bukhara as their travel destination, marking a 15.9 percent increase in domestic tourism.

Looking ahead, Bukhara’s tourism sector is ambitious in its goals for the remainder of the year. The region aims to attract a total of 3.5 million local tourists and 1.5 million foreign visitors by year-end, with an aspiration to boost the export of tourist services to $410 million.

This surge in tourism underscores Bukhara’s significance as a key destination in Uzbekistan, known for its cultural heritage and historical significance. As the region continues to develop its tourism infrastructure, it is poised to further enhance its reputation on the global stage.
