China and Netherlands Commit to Strengthening Economic and Trade Cooperation
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed China’s readiness to continue expanding economic and trade exchanges with the Netherlands, emphasizing the principle of mutual benefit. This statement came during a phone call on Wednesday with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof.
Li noted that, in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-Netherlands relations have developed steadily and rapidly. Cooperation across various fields has expanded, bringing tangible benefits to both nations. He reiterated China’s commitment to maintaining close exchanges with the new Dutch government, working together to sustain the positive momentum in strengthening bilateral relations.
The Premier highlighted that openness and practicality have been key to the successful development of China-Netherlands ties. He expressed China’s willingness to continue high-level exchanges with the Netherlands, deepen dialogue, and enhance political mutual trust, which he believes will lay a solid foundation for future cooperation.
In response, Prime Minister Schoof acknowledged China’s growing importance in global affairs and reaffirmed the Netherlands’ strong commitment to its relationship with China. He emphasized that the Netherlands remains dedicated to the one-China policy and recognizes the government of the People’s Republic of China as the sole legal government representing all of China.
Schoof further stated that the Netherlands is prepared to serve as a gateway for China’s cooperation with Europe and looks forward to advancing mutual cooperation in economic, trade, and other sectors to foster stronger Netherlands-China relations.
