China Unveils Three-Year Initiative to Address Workplace Safety Risks
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: In 2024, China is set to embark on a comprehensive three-year initiative targeting workplace safety risks across various sectors, ranging from mining to firefighting.
Announced during a Thursday meeting by the Ministry of Emergency Management, the campaign aims to proactively address potential hazards and enhance disaster control measures in the mining industry. Specific measures include the identification and mitigation of hidden dangers, the establishment of emergency disposal protocols for chemical enterprises, and the assessment of fire risks in crucial locations and densely populated areas.
Additionally, the initiative will focus on strengthening disaster response capabilities, such as refining early warning processes, maintaining reserves of relief supplies, and incorporating advanced technologies and equipment for combating forest fires. Building on the momentum of intensified efforts in 2023, which included the creation of a risk database and the elimination of 394,000 major hazards, this ongoing commitment underscores China’s dedication to prioritizing and safeguarding workplace safety.
