Chinese Comedy “Successor” Dominates Daily Box Office

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: On Sunday, the Chinese comedy film Successor continued to lead the daily box office charts on the Chinese mainland, earning approximately 227.2 million yuan (about 31.85 million U.S. dollars), according to the China Movie Data Information Network.
Starring renowned comedians Shen Teng and Ma Li, and directed by Yan Fei and Peng Damo, Successor depicts the story of a wealthy couple who create a challenging environment for their son to encourage his personal growth.
In second place was the crime thriller A Place Called Silence, which earned 43.55 million yuan on the same day.
Universal and Illumination’s animated comedy Despicable Me 4 secured the third position with a box office revenue of 21.57 million yuan.
The total box office revenue for the Chinese mainland on Sunday amounted to approximately 339.59 million yuan.
