Chinese Comedy “Successor” Tops Mainland Box Office with 30.5 Million Yuan

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: The Chinese comedy “Successor” continued its reign at the top of the daily box office chart on the Chinese mainland, earning 30.5 million yuan (approximately 4.27 million U.S. dollars) on Wednesday, according to the China Movie Data Information Network.

Directed by Yan Fei and Peng Damo and featuring popular comedy stars Shen Teng and Ma Li, “Successor” narrates the story of a wealthy couple who deliberately creates a challenging environment for their son to foster his personal growth.

In second place was the domestic historical drama “Decoded,” which garnered 16.09 million yuan on Wednesday.

The American action movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” claimed the third spot, bringing in around 9.49 million yuan.

Overall, the total box office revenue on the Chinese mainland on Wednesday was approximately 76.37 million yuan.
