Deputy FMS of Vietnam and Japan Convene Diplomatic Discussions in Hà Nội

Ha Noi, The Gulf Observer: On Monday, the Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Nguyễn Minh Vũ, engaged in substantive discussions with Komura Masahiro, Member of the House of Representatives and Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. Mr. Komura is currently on a visit to Vietnam from Sunday to Wednesday.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Vũ proposed and emphasized the importance of maintaining the exchange of high-level and all-level delegations between the two nations throughout 2024. Furthermore, he urged Japan to continue its steadfast cooperation and support for Vietnam’s endeavors in promoting industrialization and modernization in the evolving global context.

Deputy Minister Vũ expressed his contentment with the progress in bilateral economic cooperation, particularly highlighting advancements in Vietnam’s investment in environmental initiatives. He commended the collaborative efforts in emerging fields such as green transformation, digital transformation, and the implementation of projects within the framework of Japan’s Asian Zero Emissions Community (AZEC) initiative.

In addition, Deputy Minister Vũ suggested a bolstering of labor cooperation and the training of skilled human resources to meet the demands of both nations. He also called for the creation of favorable conditions for Vietnamese laborers in Japan.

Vice-Minister Komura affirmed the significant position Vietnam holds in Japan’s foreign policy within the region. He underscored the importance of the comprehensive strategic partnership established between the two countries and the upcoming commemoration of the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations in 2023. Mr. Komura assured that his ministry will maintain close coordination with Vietnam to successfully prepare for visits and contacts by high-level leaders in the near future.

During the talks, the officials exchanged perspectives on global and regional situations. They reached a mutual agreement to strengthen coordination and cooperation on international issues of shared concern, actively contributing to peace and prosperity in the region. Both officials affirmed their commitment to maintaining mutual support at multilateral forums and international organizations.

The discussions held between Deputy Minister Nguyễn Minh Vũ and Vice-Minister Komura Masahiro reflect the ongoing efforts to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan, fostering cooperation in various fields for the mutual benefit of both nations.
