Aghdam, The Gulf Observer: As part of ECO Week celebrations, a delegation from the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Youth Forum visited the liberated city of Aghdam to witness firsthand the ongoing reconstruction and development initiatives taking place in the region.
The delegation, comprising over 100 young participants from seven ECO member states, embarked on a comprehensive tour of Aghdam’s key sites, including the Aghdam Railway and Bus Station Complex, the Aghdam Mugham Center, and the historic Aghdam Juma Mosque. Throughout the visit, the participants were provided with detailed briefings on the city’s history, its period of occupation, and future urban development plans.
The program concluded with a formal banquet and a cultural and entertainment evening that featured performances and displays of Azerbaijani music, art, and heritage.
Organized within the framework of ECO Week, the visit underscores the important role of the ECO Youth Forum as a platform to foster regional cooperation among youth, promote dialogue, and encourage young leaders to contribute to peace, development, and regional integration.
The visit to Aghdam also served to raise awareness among the young delegates about the challenges and opportunities in post-conflict reconstruction, while highlighting Azerbaijan’s commitment to revitalizing the liberated territories.
