Emirati Field Hospital in Rafah Hosts WHO Delegation

Rafah, The Gulf Observer: The Emirati field hospital in Rafah welcomed a delegation from the World Health Organisation (WHO) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen medical initiatives, collaborate on healthcare solutions, and showcase the UAE’s medical resources dedicated to supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The visit is part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, under which the UAE has delivered 12 tonnes of medical aid, medicines, and essential supplies to WHO to bolster hospitals and healthcare institutions amid the critical situation in Gaza.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to evacuate the wounded and confirmed the hospital’s commitment to receiving patients and addressing Gaza’s pressing healthcare needs. They agreed to work closely to ensure a continuous supply of medical aid and tackle shortages in medical supplies and services.

Discussions also focused on medical plans to support Palestinians, including the provision of necessary medical services, the development of coordination mechanisms to enhance healthcare, and assistance for children with cancer by facilitating their treatment abroad. In addition, the two sides discussed the supply of essential medicines and medical equipment to Gaza.

This visit highlights the Emirati field hospital’s ongoing humanitarian mission and its commitment to fostering strong medical collaboration with the WHO. Since its establishment, the hospital has played a crucial role in delivering healthcare services in Gaza.

The WHO delegation praised the UAE for its pioneering humanitarian work and its steadfast commitment to providing medical aid to the people of Gaza despite the challenging circumstances. The visit underscores the UAE’s determination to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people through continuous healthcare support.
