Erdogan Accuses Israel of Deliberate Provocations and Regional Destabilization
Adana, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned Israel for what he described as deliberate provocations aimed at undermining peace in the region, referencing Israel’s military actions in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and Lebanon. Speaking at the Teknofest, Türkiye’s premier technology event, Erdogan stated, “Every time we move closer to a ceasefire and peace, Israel escalates provocations, using every tool to plunge our region into grief.”
Erdogan warned that Israel’s actions are part of a broader plan, extending beyond Gaza and Lebanon. “A sinister plan is unfolding, not limited to Gaza, the West Bank, or Lebanon. It’s clear what Israel’s ultimate goal is,” he remarked.
He expressed outrage at the recent military strikes, particularly the killing of infants, calling Israel’s actions a “state of madness.” Erdogan also criticized Western nations for their continued support of Israel, stating, “It is tragic that the West continues to back this network of massacres.”
Highlighting the responsibility of arms suppliers, Erdogan declared, “Those who provide weapons are as responsible for the bloodshed as those who use them.” He also vowed to resist any attempts to divide the region along the lines of the Sykes-Picot agreement, saying, “We will not allow our region to be torn apart again by a new Sykes-Picot-like division.”
Erdogan further accused Israel of using militant groups as pretexts for its territorial expansion, stating, “First, Israel used Hamas to occupy Gaza, now they are using Hezbollah to occupy Lebanon.”
