Erdogan Denounces Netanyahu, Urges Global Action to Halt Israeli Offensive
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: In a powerful speech delivered in the Turkish capital, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of leading the region and the world towards catastrophe. Erdogan’s remarks come amidst heightened tensions and a devastating conflict in Gaza.
“This barbarian, thug, and bloodthirsty greedy named Netanyahu, who is dragging our region and the entire world into disaster, must be stopped,” Erdogan declared. He emphasized Türkiye’s longstanding opposition to what he described as “oppression, massacre, and injustice” against the Palestinian people, pledging continued support for their cause.
Erdogan also addressed Türkiye’s ongoing struggle against terrorism, stating, “Türkiye cannot find peace or feel secure until the terror-producing swamps in northern Iraq and Syria are drained.”
The speech coincided with alarming reports from Gaza, where more than 36,400 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since October 7, following a Hamas attack that provoked a severe Israeli military response. Local health authorities indicate that the majority of those killed are women and children, with over 82,600 others injured. The region is suffering under extensive destruction and a crippling blockade that has restricted access to food, clean water, and medicine.
Adding to the international controversy, Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The court recently ordered Israel to halt its operations in Rafah, where over one million Palestinians have sought refuge.
Erdogan’s forceful condemnation of Netanyahu and his call for global action underscore the deepening crisis and the urgent need for international intervention to address the humanitarian disaster unfolding in Gaza.
