Erdogan Vows Constructive Foreign Policy, Justice for Gaza Violence

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: In a time of significant international challenges, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has affirmed Türkiye’s commitment to maintaining a “constructive, proactive, calm, and composed approach to foreign policy.” His remarks, made on Wednesday during an address in Ankara, reflect Türkiye’s strategic stance on global affairs.

President Erdogan also reiterated Türkiye’s firm opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza, condemning the ongoing conflict. “We will stand against Israel’s attempts to set the region on fire. We will fight until the genocidal killers who spilled the blood of over 40,000 innocents in Gaza are held accountable under the law,” Erdogan declared, emphasizing Türkiye’s stance on seeking justice for the victims of the violence.

Erdogan’s address coincided with the 23rd anniversary of the country’s Justice and Development (AK) Party, during which he also spoke about the upcoming visit of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to Türkiye. Erdogan announced that Abbas would address the Turkish parliament on Thursday as an “honoured guest on behalf of the Palestinian people,” underscoring Türkiye’s continued support for Palestine.

Criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent speech to the U.S. Congress, Erdogan underscored his commitment to ensuring that Mahmoud Abbas has the opportunity to speak in Türkiye’s parliament, a move that reflects Türkiye’s ongoing solidarity with Palestine.

On the domestic front, Erdogan vowed to continue Türkiye’s counter-terrorism operations, particularly in northern Syria and northern Iraq. “We will not turn a blind eye to the revival of terrorism, which has nearly been eradicated as a result of our operations, nor to any faits accomplis in northern Syria,” he stated. These operations are aimed at neutralizing terrorist threats and ensuring the safety of Turkish borders and the local population in these regions.

President Erdogan’s address highlights Türkiye’s balanced approach to foreign policy while emphasizing its commitment to regional stability and justice.
