Ethiopia Promoted as Global Investment Hub at Pakistan-Africa Business Summit

Addis Ababa, The Gulf Observer: Ethiopia is being positioned as a globally competitive investment destination through the expansion and advancement of its investment opportunities, Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime Feyisa said today at the 5th Pakistan-Africa Business Development Summit and Conference. The event, held at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa, brought together over 110 business delegates from Pakistan alongside leading companies from across the African continent.

In his address, Minister Alemu emphasized that the summit exemplifies the growing strength of trade and investment relations between Africa and Pakistan. He noted that Ethiopia’s ongoing macroeconomic reforms are fostering a favorable investment climate and enhancing the country’s attractiveness to international investors.

Ambassador Dawano Kedir, Director General for Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the steady growth of Ethiopia–Pakistan relations across investment and various development sectors.

Former Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker, underscored that the 5th Pakistan-Africa Business Development Summit reflects the close and enduring partnership between Ethiopia and Pakistan. He said the platform would help promote Ethiopia’s and Africa’s vast development potential, adding that bilateral cooperation and partnerships will continue to deepen in the years ahead.

Leading the Pakistani delegation, Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan lauded Ethiopia’s trade prospects, consistent policy direction, and its strategic position as the headquarters of the African Union, describing these factors as a strong foundation for collaborative policy linkages and future partnerships.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Atif Sharif, commended Ethiopia’s conducive investment climate and ongoing multifaceted development transformation, noting that these conditions will further strengthen Pakistan’s trade and investment engagement across the African continent.
