Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto Arrives in Brazil for G20 Summit
Rio de Janeiro, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Galeao Air Base in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday local time to attend the G20 Summit. The president, accompanied by his son Aditya Hediprasetyo, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, landed at 23:40 local time.
Upon arrival, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil Edi Yusup, Brazilian Ambassador to Indonesia George Monteiro Prata, and the Indonesian Embassy’s Defense Attaché, Colonel Rizal Ashwam Amanda. Following a brief exchange of greetings, the President was escorted in a white Mercedes Benz state car, decorated with both the Indonesian and Brazilian flags, to continue his journey.
According to his media team, President Prabowo will join other world leaders at the G20 Summit to discuss pressing global issues, including strategies to combat poverty, hunger, and transition to environmentally friendly energy solutions. This year’s G20 Summit is centered on the theme “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.”
Before arriving in Brazil, President Prabowo concluded his visit to Lima, Peru, where he participated in the 2024 APEC Summit. During his time in Peru, he held bilateral talks with Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, as well as leaders from Vietnam, Canada, and New Zealand. Key topics included economic partnerships, drug eradication efforts, and strategic cooperation in agriculture, education, and health.
