International Conference on Food Security kicks off in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan, in a partnership with the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization – FAO, holding the international conference “Partnership for Food Security under Climate Change” from today March 9 to March10 in Ashgabat.

The relevant Decree on the organization of the conference was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the country’s official media reported on Thursday.

The document prescribes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection in cooperation with the FAO to ensure the organization of the high-level international conference.

According to the document, the Decree to organize the conference was adopted with the aim of practical implementation of foreign policy aimed at developing multilateral cooperation with international partners to strengthen food security.
