Iran and Iraq Discuss Strengthening Border and Security Cooperation

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: The Iranian Military Attaché to Iraq, Major General Majid Gholipour, met on Wednesday in Baghdad with Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, to discuss continued cooperation on border control, combating smuggling, and ensuring regional security and stability.

According to a statement from the media office of Iraq’s National Security Advisor, the meeting focused on strategies to enhance coordination between the two countries in managing borders, preventing illicit trade, and maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The statement also noted ongoing efforts by Iran and Iraq to develop military and security cooperation in areas such as military studies, research, and the exchange of information and expertise, reinforcing the partnership between the two nations in maintaining regional security.
