Moscow, The Gulf Observer: The Qeshm Free Zone Organization of Iran and the Dubna Special Economic Zone (SEZ Dubna) of the Russian Federation have formalized their collaboration through a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to bolster mutual investment and advance infrastructure development.

The MoU was signed on Tuesday by Edris Ramouz, Deputy for Cultural, Social, and Tourism Affairs of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, and Igor Koroglov, Deputy CEO of SEZ Dubna. The signing ceremony underscored the commitment to enhancing international relations between Qeshm Island and SEZ Dubna, fostering profitable cooperation in the management of free and special economic zones, and attracting foreign investment.

In a statement following the signing, Ramouz emphasized the strategic importance of the MoU for the development of Qeshm Island’s international relations and its economic landscape. He highlighted the aim to improve bilateral cooperation and expand investment opportunities.

Additionally, during their visit to Russia, the Qeshm Free Zone delegation met with Kazem Jalali, Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow. The delegation is also scheduled to visit Krasnodar, a prominent economic hub in southern Russia, at the invitation of the region’s governor general. The visit will include discussions to finalize another MoU between the mayors of Qeshm and Krasnodar.

Both Krasnodar and Qeshm are recognized for their tourism potential, and the MoUs seek to capitalize on this shared strength to enhance cooperation in economic, investment, and cultural sectors.
