Iran Launches New Wave of Missile and Drone Strikes on Israel Amid Escalating Conflict

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: The Islamic Republic of Iran has launched a fresh salvo of missiles and drones targeting strategic sites in Israel, in what Tehran describes as a continuation of punitive operations in response to ongoing Israeli aggression, including recent deadly attacks on Iranian soil.
According to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (I.R.G.C.), the new wave of retaliatory strikes hit multiple key Israeli targets, including a facility belonging to Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Ben Gurion Airport. While Israeli authorities have maintained a media blackout, emerging footage suggests that several Iranian missiles successfully reached their intended destinations.
In a statement issued shortly after the strikes, the I.R.G.C. confirmed the operation and said that its Aerospace Force was focusing on Israeli intelligence centers. The Corps reiterated that the response was part of a broader campaign to exact a price for the “unprovoked and illegal acts of aggression” carried out by Israel on Iranian territory.
The IRGC also acknowledged a significant loss on its own side. Lieutenant General Mohammad Kazemi, the head of the I.R.G.C.’s Intelligence Organization, along with senior officers Hassan Mohaqeq and Mohsen Baqeri, were killed during Israeli strikes on June 13. The IRGC hailed their martyrdom, vowing continued resistance and retaliation.
The Israeli regime had initiated the escalation with missile strikes that hit residential neighborhoods in Tehran and other areas, killing both civilians and senior Iranian military figures. The strikes were widely condemned by Iranian officials as a flagrant violation of international law.
Following the initial attacks, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei swiftly appointed new military commanders and pledged that the Israeli regime would face severe consequences. He warned that the situation in the region would rapidly deteriorate for Israel.
Since then, Iran has launched coordinated attacks deep into Israeli territory, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa. Life across the occupied territories has been severely disrupted, with widespread reports of civilians spending extended periods in underground shelters.
Adding to the complexity of the conflict, Israeli media has reported that missiles and drones were also launched from Yemen toward the occupied territories, indicating a possible widening of the regional confrontation.
Iranian officials have declared that the military operations will continue “for as long as necessary,” underscoring their resolve to deter further Israeli aggression and defend the country’s sovereignty.
The situation remains volatile, with regional and international observers calling for de-escalation and urgent diplomatic intervention to prevent further loss of life and a broader regional conflict.
