Iran Reaffirms Unwavering Support for Palestine in Meeting with PFLP Deputy Leader

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi reiterated the Islamic Republic’s comprehensive support for the Palestinian cause during a meeting on Monday with Jamil Mezher, Deputy General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
In his remarks, Araqchi lauded the steadfastness of the Palestinian nation in resisting the Israeli regime and reaffirmed Iran’s enduring support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with the Holy Quds as its capital.
The Foreign Minister underscored Iran’s deep respect for the PFLP, describing it as one of the oldest and most prominent resistance groups opposing Israeli occupation. He paid tribute to the group’s martyred and imprisoned leaders, acknowledging their enduring legacy and sacrifice in the struggle for Palestinian rights.
Araqchi emphasized that Iran’s support for Palestine extends to active diplomatic and political engagement in international and regional platforms, particularly within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He also highlighted the importance of unity among Palestinian factions, stressing that solidarity is crucial in thwarting Israeli plots. The recent Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, he noted, had once again drawn global attention to the Palestinian cause.
Jamil Mezher, for his part, expressed gratitude for Iran’s consistent backing of the Palestinian people. He honored the memory of Iran’s resistance leaders and commended the Iranian leadership, government, and people for their unwavering support.
Providing an update on current conditions in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Holy Quds, Mezher described the dire humanitarian situation, pointing to policies of genocide and starvation targeting civilians, particularly women and children. He affirmed that, despite these brutal tactics, the Palestinian people would persist in their resistance.
The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding solidarity between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Palestinian resistance, as both sides vowed to continue coordination in pursuit of justice and liberation for the Palestinian nation.
