Iranian and Jordanian Foreign Ministers Discuss Developments in Palestine
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: In a recent phone conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Palestine.
During the call, Minister Safadi congratulated Araghchi on his recent election as Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished him success in his new role. The Jordanian Foreign Minister expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza and the escalating tensions in the West Bank, stressing the urgent need to de-escalate the situation in both areas.
In response, Minister Araghchi thanked his Jordanian counterpart for the warm congratulations and emphasized Iran’s readiness to engage in constructive dialogue with Jordan on bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues. He highlighted that the actions of the Zionist regime are the primary source of tension and conflict in the region, and its continued aggression is the biggest obstacle to achieving peace in Gaza. Araghchi called for effective action by the international community to halt what he described as the genocide perpetrated by the Zionist forces.
Araghchi further underscored the importance of sending humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people and reiterated Iran’s support for any agreement that aligns with the aspirations of the Palestinian people and their resistance.
Both ministers agreed on the importance of continuing consultations between their countries, seeing it as beneficial for the interests of both nations and the broader region.
