Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Begins First Official Trip in Mashhad

Mashhad, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has commenced his first official trip as president in the holy city of Mashhad, located in the northeastern province of Razavi Khorasan. His visit began with a formal welcome by the province’s governor and other local officials, as reported by NHC on Tuesday.

During his visit, President Pezeshkian is scheduled to make a pilgrimage to the revered Imam Reza (AS) shrine, a significant religious site for Shia Muslims. The shrine, situated in Mashhad, draws pilgrims from across Iran and neighboring countries each year, particularly during the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS), which falls on September 4 this year.

In addition to his religious visit, President Pezeshkian will hold meetings with local business leaders and entrepreneurs in the province, underscoring his administration’s focus on economic development and engagement with regional stakeholders.

President Pezeshkian was elected as Iran’s president in a runoff election held on July 5, marking his first official engagement since taking office.
