Baku Hosts CICA Conference to Promote Women’s Empowerment and Sustainable Growth
Baku, The Gulf Observer: An international conference titled “Amplifying Women’s Voices across CICA for Sustainable Growth,” organized under the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), has commenced in Baku, bringing together policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to advance gender-inclusive development across member states.
The conference features a series of panel discussions addressing key issues, including women’s entrepreneurship in small and medium-sized enterprises, with a particular focus on opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and digitalization. Another major session highlights the role of women’s leadership in environmental protection and the promotion of sustainability.
The event underscores the growing recognition of women’s contributions to economic growth, innovation, and environmental stewardship, while fostering dialogue on policy frameworks that support inclusive and sustainable development.
The conference will be followed by the inaugural meeting of the CICA Women Council, marking a significant institutional step toward strengthening cooperation among member states. The council is expected to focus on enhancing coordination, promoting dialogue, and facilitating the exchange of experiences and best practices to empower women across the region.
