Iraq Extends Official Invitation to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for State Visit

Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: Iraqi Prime Minister has officially invited Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Iraq, marking a significant step in strengthening diplomatic ties between the two neighboring countries. The invitation was conveyed by Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein during a phone conversation on Thursday with Iran’s newly appointed Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi.

During the call, Hussein congratulated Araqchi on his recent appointment and paid tribute to the late Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash in May. Hussein expressed his hope that Iraq and Iran will continue to collaborate closely on various bilateral, regional, and international issues.

In response, Araqchi expressed gratitude for Hussein’s congratulations and reaffirmed the Pezeshkian administration’s commitment to deepening comprehensive ties with Iraq. He also welcomed the invitation extended by the Iraqi Prime Minister, expressing appreciation for Iraq’s ongoing support and hospitality, particularly toward Arbaeen pilgrims.
