Israeli Military Issues New Evacuation Orders for Gaza’s Beit Hanoon
Gaza, The Gulf Observer: The Israeli military has issued new evacuation orders for residents of northern Gaza, urging Palestinians to leave the territory that was heavily bombed at the start of the conflict some 10 months ago.
The military announced its response to a Hamas rocket attack from the Beit Hanoon area the previous day, recommending residents relocate to Gaza City, large parts of which have been destroyed during the ongoing conflict.
Beit Hanoon, situated near the border, was one of the initial targets of the extensive bombardment and ground invasion following Hamas’s October 7 attack. Israeli forces have repeatedly returned to previously targeted areas, resulting in widespread destruction from past air and ground operations.
Since the invasion began, the vast majority of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents have been displaced within the narrow coastal enclave, many multiple times. Currently, hundreds of thousands are sheltering in crowded tent camps.
