Juan Ayuso Claims First Vuelta a España Stage Win as UAE Team Emirates-XRG Secures Third Consecutive Victory

Madrid, The Gulf Observer: UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s Juan Ayuso powered to his first-ever Vuelta a España stage victory on Friday, conquering the summit finish at Cerler in Huesca La Magia and delivering a commanding solo performance.
Breaking away 9.5 km from the summit, the 22-year-old Spaniard outclassed his rivals in the day’s decisive climb to secure his second Grand Tour stage triumph of the season.
Ayuso’s success continued a remarkable run for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, marking their third consecutive stage win. Following the Team Time Trial victory on Wednesday and Jay Vine’s breakaway triumph on Thursday, Friday’s win confirmed the Emirati squad’s dominant presence in the race.
Both Ayuso and Vine animated the stage early on, joining a 13-man breakaway that built a lead of more than four minutes over the peloton. While Vine consolidated his advantage in the King of the Mountains classification with the blue polka-dot jersey, Ayuso timed his final move to perfection on the steep slopes of Cerler.
The victory not only reinforced Ayuso’s credentials as one of cycling’s brightest young talents but also silenced critics after his time loss on stage six. His collaboration with Vine proved decisive, underlining UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s strength and tactical depth in the 2025 edition of the Vuelta.
