Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan Culture Days were held in Ashgabat from October 7 to 10, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan through various artistic performances and cinematic presentations. The event culminated in a gala concert featuring prominent artists from Kazakhstan, hosted at the Mukamov Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.
The concert opened with the “Shattyk Eli” (The Land of Fun) music composition performed by the Kurmangazy National Folk Instruments Orchestra. People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Ramazan Stamgaziev captivated the audience with his rendition of “On sausak” (Ten fingers), while honored Kazakh artist Alisher Karimov delivered a powerful performance of the song “Jan Watanym Türkmenistan.” The concert also featured performances by Rassul Zharmagambetov, Ablay Tlepbergen, Tanat Sadenov, and the renowned dance ensemble Birlik.
The Kazakhstan Culture Days were organized in conjunction with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s official visit to Turkmenistan, strengthening the cultural ties between the two nations. In addition to the concert, the Days of Kazakhstan Cinema were inaugurated at the Ashgabat Cinema Hall with the screening of the historical film “The Dawn of the Great Steppe” (Uly Dala Tany), directed by Akan Satatyev, which highlights the golden age of the Kazakh Khanate. Another film, “Paralympians,” was also screened as part of the cinema showcase, attracting an audience of over 3,000 people.
Highlighting the cultural collaboration, a monument to the great Kazakh poet Abai is set to be unveiled on October 10 in Lachyn Park, Ashgabat, with the attendance of leaders from both Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. This event follows the successful Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan, which took place in June in Astana and was organized by the Culture and Information Ministry of Kazakhstan and the Culture Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The Kazakhstan Culture Days in Ashgabat serve as a testament to the enduring cultural connections between the two countries and their commitment to fostering mutual appreciation through the arts.
