Kuwait’s Amir Issues Decree: Parliament Dissolved, Constitution Articles Suspended
Kuwait City, The Gulf Observer: In a significant move aimed at advancing Kuwait’s national interests, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the esteemed Amir of Kuwait, has issued a momentous Amiri Order, as reported by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), to dissolve the National Assembly and temporarily suspend several articles of the Constitution for a period not exceeding four years.
The Amiri Order, issued on Friday, delineates a series of measures designed to facilitate a comprehensive review of democratic practices within the country, with a view towards ensuring the robustness and efficacy of Kuwait’s governance structures. Key provisions of the Order include:
Article One: Dissolving the National Assembly, marking the commencement of a transitional phase in Kuwait’s political landscape.
