Turkmenistan and VSO Discuss Collaboration to Modernize Education System

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Representatives from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and Volunteer Services Overseas (VSO) met on January 27, 2025, in Ashgabat to discuss innovative teaching methods and explore opportunities for joint projects aimed at modernizing Turkmenistan’s education system.

The meeting included Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev, Head of the International Department Gulnabat Gurdova, and VSO representatives Purna Shrestha and Joyce Laker. The discussions centered around initiatives to support teachers, students, and educational institutions, as outlined by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

VSO representatives presented their expertise in educational reforms and global standards, proposing strategies to enhance the educational environment in Turkmenistan. Both sides expressed confidence that their partnership would open new opportunities for students and educators, marking a significant step toward strengthening the nation’s education system.

The VSO delegation, currently in Ashgabat for a week-long visit, plans to tour local schools and educational centers to further explore potential collaboration. VSO, based in London, operates in over 20 countries, focusing on volunteer support and creating inclusive educational conditions worldwide.
