Meloni Underscores Strategic Partnership at Astana International Forum 2025

Astana, The Gulf Observer: On the second day of the plenary session at the Astana International Forum (AIF) 2025, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni underscored the significance of her visit to Kazakhstan, describing it as a momentous step in strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and Kazakhstan.

In her address, Prime Minister Meloni expressed deep appreciation for the warm welcome and the opportunity to participate in the forum hosted by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Government of Kazakhstan.

“This marks the beginning of my first official visit to Kazakhstan since assuming office as President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy. This visit is not merely a matter of protocol, but one of substance,” she stated. “We intend to seal the friendship that unites our nations with concrete actions by announcing our strategic collaboration in several key areas.”

Meloni emphasized the historical significance of the visit, highlighting that it also marks the inaugural summit between Italy and the five Central Asian countries. “This visit also marks a historic moment in our relations: the first Summit between Italy and the five Central Asian nations,” she said.

The Italian Prime Minister’s remarks came during a special session of the AIF 2025, which she attended alongside President Tokayev. The event serves as a platform for high-level dialogue on global cooperation, sustainability, and regional development, with participation from world leaders, policymakers, and experts.
