Ministry of Health Confirms No Monkeypox Cases in Oman

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Health has confirmed that no cases of monkeypox have been detected in the Sultanate of Oman. In a statement issued today, the Ministry urged all citizens and residents to rely solely on official sources for updates on the situation.

The Ministry, through the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and the Emergency Management Centre, is actively monitoring the situation following the World Health Organization’s recent declaration of monkeypox as a public health emergency of international concern.

To ensure the nation’s preparedness, the Ministry affirmed that Oman possesses the necessary infrastructure to test and diagnose monkeypox. The Ministry is also engaged in continuous coordination with the World Health Organization and other relevant international organizations to monitor and manage the potential spread of infectious diseases.

The Ministry reassured the public that it remains vigilant and is committed to safeguarding the health and well-being of all residents in Oman.
