Mohammed bin Rashid Participates in 33rd Arab League Summit in Bahrain

Manama, The Gulf Observer: In a testament to the enduring commitment to regional cooperation and solidarity, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, alongside His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, graced the opening session of the 33rd Arab League Summit, convened in Manama, Bahrain.
The summit, attended by leaders and delegates from 22 member states of the Arab League, commenced with a fervent spirit of collaboration and a collective resolve to address pressing challenges facing the Arab world.
Upon their arrival at Al Sakhir Palace, the esteemed venue of the summit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed and his delegation were warmly received by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain. His Majesty extended gracious commendations to Sheikh Mohammed for his steadfast dedication to advancing Arab cooperation, fostering solutions to regional challenges, and propelling the region towards a future of prosperity and development.
In reciprocation, Sheikh Mohammed extended heartfelt congratulations to the King of Bahrain for the exceptional organization of the summit, expressing his earnest wishes for the continued growth and prosperity of Bahrain under His Majesty’s astute leadership.
With the Palestinian issue at the forefront of discussions amidst escalating humanitarian crises in Gaza, Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the UAE’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. He affirmed the nation’s commitment to upholding the rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with international laws and resolutions, while also applauding the UAE’s pivotal role in delivering relief aid to Gaza. Sheikh Mohammed lauded the recent diplomatic milestone achieved with the United Nations General Assembly’s endorsement of granting Palestine full UN membership.
The summit convened leaders from across the Arab world to deliberate on strategies aimed at initiating a new phase of collective action, fostering cooperation, and driving sustainable development throughout the region. Deliberations centered on unlocking comprehensive sustainable development, promoting stability, progress, and prosperity, and addressing shared aspirations of the Arab people.
The opening session witnessed keynote addresses by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Chair of the 33rd Arab League Summit. Both leaders underscored the imperative of regional security, peace, and prosperity, advocating for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the strengthening of joint Arab action.
In alignment with the summit’s theme, esteemed dignitaries including Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Dr. Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, delivered insightful contributions, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing regional challenges and advancing common interests.
Earlier in the day, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, received a warm welcome upon their arrival in Bahrain, affirming the enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and Bahrain.
